Frequently Asked Questions

Our FAQ section is here to make the process simple and stress free. Below you will find quick answers to the most common questions about apostille services and mobile notary appointments in the DMV area, including document types, turnaround times, what to bring, and how to get started. If you still have questions, contact us anytime and we will gladly guide you.

What is an apostille?

An apostille is a certification that makes a document valid for use in another country that is part of the Hague Apostille Convention. It confirms the authenticity of the signature and seal on the document so it can be accepted internationally.

What types of documents can you help me with for apostille services?

We can help with many common personal and business documents, including birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, death certificates, diplomas and transcripts, background checks, powers of attorney, affidavits, and business documents (LLC or corporate paperwork). If you are unsure, contact us with the document type and the country it will be used in.

How quickly can I expect my documents to be processed?

Processing time depends on the document type, the state it must be processed in, and your turnaround option. Standard processing typically takes several business days, and expedited options may be available depending on your request. Contact us with your deadline and we will confirm the best option.

Do you offer mobile notary services in my area?

Yes. We offer mobile notary services throughout the DMV area (DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia). Availability depends on distance and scheduling. Travel fees may vary based on location, time of day, and the number of documents.

What do I need to bring for a notarization appointment?

Please have:
A valid, unexpired government issued photo ID
The document ready to sign (do not sign until you are with the notary)
Any required witnesses (if your document needs witnesses, tell us ahead of time so we can confirm what’s required)

Can you assist with notarizing foreign language documents?

In many cases, yes. Foreign language documents can often be notarized as long as we can properly identify the signer and the notarial certificate wording is in English. If the document is complex, we may ask for an English translation or additional details to confirm the correct notarial act.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes, we speak Spanish.
Sí, hablamos español.
